Why pick on the children? They have no control over anything, nor the stupid crap their parents get into! I pray he is found alive and well.

The police have picked up the grandfather in Cali.

It would have been nice if he'd turned himself in.  Let's see if he has the decency to talk.

Thanks  God  "the only  innocent  person  in  this  affair"  has  been  found.  This  is  a  lesson  for  all  parents  to  be  models of  morality  for  their  children,"  not  the  opposite!  This also  ties  up  to  the  monumental  question  raised  on  recent  talk  show,  "whether  the  liberals  are  anti-American." Pat  Buchanan  and  a  Republican  Senator  were  unable  to  give  the  answer,  despite  trying.   But  the  question is vital and   merits  a  response:  yes,  the  liberal  education  is  anti-American!  The  parents  of  the  little  boy  are  a  classic  example  how  the removal of  God  from  the school   curricula  has  contributed  to  moral  deterioration  of  the  national  culture  and  family!  This  is  a  liberal  baby,  an  anti-American  incubus!  Pat  and  the  said Sen.  may  have  had  no  courage  to  say  this  for  political  reasons,  but  I  am not  a  politician,  but  simply  American!

USMC28,  I  know  exactly  what  I  am  talking  about! I  carry  the  wounds  to  prove  it. The  liberals  in the  U.S.  have  denied  my right to  write  a  magisterial  thesis  with  God's  name  in  the  title!  When  I  objected,  they  denied  my  access  to  teacher Certificate,  on  the  premise  that "you  will corrupt  our  children." The  children  become  parents! What  I  wanted  to  teach  them,  was morality, to be good parents!!  I  wanted  to  instill in  them  a  sense  of  beauty,  not  scatology!  Beauty,  I  told  the liberal  faculty,  is  found  in  moral  behavior. It is  found  in  classics,  not  in  foul  pornography! They  took  me  to  the  Supreme  Court,  ruining  my  life! They accused me of "mental illness."   They  won,  for  they  hold  the  American  frying pan  by  the  handle! They  infest  every  public  school!  They  teach moral  relativism  through the  media.  They  are  anti-life! They  are anti-family!  They  are  anti-American!

They  aren't  "your  kids"!  All  children  belong  to  God!  Their  Father,  God  Almighty,  wants  them  to  grow in  morality,  not  obscenity! Furthermore, all children belong to society and the society's future depends on their moral character.   By  denying  your  children  what  God  wants, and what society needs,   you  hurt  your children   beyond imagination.  You  are  an utmost  child  abuser!

Thank God they found that baby...I've heard horror stories about people stealing kids and stuffing their bodies full of drugs...I hope that the father isn't involved and that the mother never gets to see her son again...I can't imaging putting her own child in that kind of danger.   I'm glad this story has a happy ending...now if they can only find Caylee Anthony.

These people have do care who they kill or cut up, so yeah gramps let leave your grandchild to the mercy of these killers!!! I fear this little boy will not be found alive. So to the dumbass grandfather, I have to ask, was the money and drugs worth your grandson's life???

Yesterday the local news reported that the entire family is refusing to talk.

It might have been the grandfather that took off with the money, but I'm guessing that the entire family is involved in drug dealing.

Sheep:  What exactly is "liberal" about this article.

I'm guessing that this family likes guns and doesn't believe in birth control, which are the basis of right wing ideology.

We could use our military to control the boarders...if it wasn't for the fact that the military is bogged down in Iraq.

We have big problems in this country that will never be resolved as long as people continue to play partisan politics with ever issue.

the article itself isn't liberal. But there are issues we need to address that the liberal side of the govt along with the dirtbags in the aclu think will just work themselves out if we just open up the borders and stop judging people. The right to own a gun is a real protected constitutional RIGHT. Birth control  ( and I have no problem with birth control, I have a problem with on demand abortion) is a FDA approved medication, not a civil right issue. Back to the point of  this article, if this little boy is harmed the USA needs to declare war on the mexican mafia, segregate or execute all it's members that are in our prison system and not just control the borders we need to shut them down forever. No one in, no one out. It is time to stop letting the third world into America once and for all. This is a partial result if groups like La raza and the aclu being given any credence what so ever in our judicial syatem.

Who's going to work the fields, clean the hotel rooms and wash dishes in restaurants for minimum wage?  You??

We need to seal the boarders...and the areas around the borders.  One of the excuses for not sealing the borders is the cost.  We could hire Illegals to do the labor - that would save a fortune!!

And the true cost is the lives of our citizens.

Bush has been in power 8 years.  Congress was controlled by the GOP for 6 years.  Did they do one thing to seal the borders?  NO.  The GOP won't seal the borders because cheap illegal hired help is "good for business".

But I will agree that the ACLU and La Raza are jumping on a band wagon without looking at the whole picture.  They are wrong.  If you are in this country illegally, you should have no rights other that basic humaine rights.

I feel that La Raza should focus their energy on improving Mexico's economy and corrupt government so that Mexicans do not have to pour into this country to make a living.

Pop quiz:  Who's the richest man in the world?  Carlos Sim Helu' of Mexico.  It used to be Warren Buffett, but that was before the US markets crashed.

There  should  be  no  illegals! Every  person  on  our  soil  is  legal, regardless  how  he  or  she  got  here!  Sen. McCain  was  right:  we  need  to  legalize  the  so-called  "illegals."  They have  families  which  now  suffer ... little boys and girls like Cole, only with hazel eyes! A  hundred  percent of them  are  economic  refugees.  In  other  words,  they  came  here  in  pursuit  of  the  same  dream  you  and  me  take  for  granted!  It  is  time  that  we show  them  that we  believe  in  the  same  things  they  believe in!

How irresponsible of parents to engage in such a risky "career" choice, knowing that drug deals gone bad can either cause an innocent child to get kidnapped and the parents asked for huge ransom, or for them or the child (or both) to get killed as vengeance for money owed or drugs that were not of the promised quality.

What can you expect from people who are involved with the mafia and illegal drugs? If you want to live this crazy lifestyle, don't have kids for pete's sake! It's too bad that CPS didn't get involved in time and find this kid a stable, loving environment.  Now the kid's suffering for his parents' poor choices and irresponsibility at the hands of kidnappers who are probably either torturing him or have already murdered the poor boy.

are you saying then, that the parents, (the kids of the little boys grandfather) had no idea what grandpa was up to?  Come on.  I don't believe that for a minute...and I doubt the cops do either.  By not talking are they protecting the 6 year old boy or themselves?  There is a special place in hell for those who hurt children.

My sincerest wishes are for the safe return of the boy......and then they should find him a family worthy of him.

there could be one other reasson the family is not talking.  when they were "tied up at gunpoint, in their own home," someone may have told them that if they speal to the Law Enforcement people that their son would be harmed.

there are military on the border, it's just that they are support units, not combat or military police.  don't ask me i feel there should be infantry, scout and artilloery units out there...you think artillery is going overboard...not me! the next time mexican federal law or mil. troops fire on US. border patrol or other US. Law enf. persons just call in a fire mission, a little "COLD STEEL" and we could whaqt happened next time.

there are Nat Grd. elements on the border but they are logistics elements (paperwork and maintenance units / elements). For me personally i would like to see infantry, light Calvary (scout) and artillery units on the border. Maybe a little air defence artillery too.  you think artillery is a little over the top, not me.  the next time Mexican federal troops or law enforcement fire across the border at US. border patrol or local or state police doing their jobs in our country...i think a little "COLD STEEL" might just solve the problem and, hey , it might just adjust a few attitudes with regard to continuing to screw with us.

in the case on the child, I pray that the young man is returned alive and well and those responsible are given a moderate glimpse of what HELL will be like BEFORE THEY ACTUALLY GET THERE.

When the story first broke the local news reported that the family tried to play it off as a random abduction but the police could tell that it wasn't "random" and the family knew more than they were saying.

The family called the police immediately;  they just didn't want to admit that they were meth pushers and it was a drug deal gone bad.  The boy was gone over a day before they could get the parents to talk.    And you'll notice that the grandfather didn't turn himself in OR give the money back to recover the boy.  How sick is that.

I have never heard of fear of the police from any Mexican drug dealers.

I am so blown away by the lack of concern parents and grandparents can show for the children in their lives!! My three precious grandchildren are the joy of my life and I would go to any lengths to prevent harm to them.  Any family members engaged in this drug business need to lose all contact with this sweet little guy if the authorities are lucky enough to find him. He deserves to grow up safe and happy.

Every time I read something like this that involves drugs, I recall how the young guys who worked for me would say that doing drugs was ok so long as no one else got hurt.

To those guys and many like them I say here is the evidence why doing drugs is wrong.  Invaribly some innocent party always gets hurt and for those who do drugs, put the blame where it belongs, "on yourselves."

protect our borders? you are an idiot! how about protect our children from greedy and ignorant parents and grandparents. the blame is on the grandfather who thinks that stealing drug money is worth his grandsons life and the mother and boyfriend who refuse to help authorities because obviously they were involved also. just typical white trash who think that their drug sponsored lifestyle is worth the life of their innocent grandson.

the grandfather was in hiding for three months. he had been reported missing because he knew the dealers were looking for him. what a coward. the guilty drug head hides and leaves his grandson to fend for himself. all the blame is on the grandfather and the mother and boyfriend.

the police should do the right thing and hand over the grandfather to the mafia in return for the innocent boy.

you are blind. what does a greedy drug addicted grandfather have to do with border protection? nothing. his greed and addiction was the only factor in the abduction of his grandson.

let me make this easy on you. AIG is the grandfather and the taxpayers money is the innocent kid. now do you get it? the government is the drug cartel. does that help explain what just happened? we did not pull $700 billion out of a hat. the government took $700 bilion from innocent taxpayers to help pay greedy AIG debt.

Vegas used to have a bunch of meth labs here but the police cracked down on them which, ironically, led to the opening in the meth market for the Mexican mafia to fill.

What is it about humans that make them addicted to drugs to the point of ruining their lives??

No,  it  wasn't  the  only  thing,  Loius.  For  decades,  the  Democrats  like  Barbara  Boxer,  Nancy Pelosi,  and  Barack Obama,  have  been  obstructing  moral  teaching  in  schools.  This  and  nothing  else  is  what  caused  this  "family," and  the  AIG  CEO's,   to  engage in  excessive greed and/or  in  drug dealings!  It wasn't  just so  much  addiction  and  greed,  but  the  Democrat  policies  that  caused  addiction  and  greed!

I moved to Vegas in March.  One of the first things that I noticed was how many children die here.

They are beat to death by their "loved ones", shot by wanna-be gang members, hit by cars because they're riding their bikes in the middle of the night while their parents are in the casinos, etc.   About a dozen kids died this summer from being left in vehicles in the heat.

Vegas is no place for children and no place for people with addiction problems.  People come here thinking that they're going to be slick and hussle money, and I wouldn't care if they wouldn't drag children here with them.

To Nevada's credit; it's most likely that everyone involved will go to prison.

Are you serious?  Because my kid is thinking of UNLV.

Well, just when I think I've heard it all, a drug-dealing grandpa, mixing with the worst sort, likely just got his grandson killed.  Makes me sick.

I've met a lot of great people in Vegas, but it's no place for people with addiction problems. As long as your kid doesn't drink, gamble, do drugs, or have a sex addiction they will be fine.

They keep the Strip cleaned up so the tourists don't notice, but the bum population of this city is huge.  And they are the laziest bums I've ever seen.  Not once has a bum offered to wash my windows.  There's only one bum in my neighborhood that goes through the garbage cans.  In Cali people used to go through my garbage cans 10 times a day.

The colleges are good, housing and the cost of living is pretty cheap.  There are jobs ever where - even in this economy.

The population of the Vegas Valley is @ 2 million.  But after you take out the bums, druggies and other loosers it's really a very small town.

And the courts are very strict in Nevada....just ask O.J.

I hope that they bring the Grandfather back to Vegas to try him, but I bet he fights to stay in Cali where he has a chance to get off.  I have a friend that's a cop in Vegas.  He told me that when someone gets before a judge here there are no "mistrial" or reduced sentences loopholes...which is not always a bad thing.

Thanks, that's good to know. He doesn't drink - often anyway, he's only 18.  Generally a good kid.  I'll be sure to give him a head's up on the transients, although initially he'd be in a dorm.

We should be praying for this child's safe return and that the kidnappers develop a heart and let him go.  The child doesn't have their money.  Everyone should report drug users and pushers where ever they are - we need t o keep our eyes open and report on Creeps like this.  There are no "good" drug users.

We have people in the military who specialize in removing unwanted people in the world. This is a great exercise if you ask me, there is truly no use for the animals such as these kidnappers. total eradication.

As for the parents, let's put them in front of a firing squad or better yet, let's trade them for the boy. Find the boy a good family and move on.

Has there been any evidence that the parents knew anything or are involved?  I haven't seen anything, and I have seen videos of the father and he appears pretty upset...much more than the girl in florida has behaved.  I am asking honestly, as I haven't read most of what people have posted about the parents not talking.

They've only showed the maternal grandmother and the father on TV passing out flyers.

The news hasn't mentioned the mother or boyfriend.

We need to close the borders Now!!!!!  Am I the only one that is bothered that the Mexican Mofia was able to cross into this counrty so easy & take the little boy & go back into Mexico with him? I am !!! If the borders were not so easy to cross then the drugs could not cross either. I hate to say it but this little boy is gone. The Mafia kidnapp people every day. If they do not kill them, they sell them into the sex slave trade. Then they still try to ransom the family for money. For them this is a money maker. If you think all the children that are missing are just taken by bad people in this counrty, think again. The sex slave trade is a big money maker for them. Young children are thier biggest targets. We have to close the borders to stop this from happening!!!

Last year in San Diego they found a tunnel that led from Mexico to Cali.  It had ventilation, lighting, and was large enough for a diesel truck to drive through.

This year at the Mexicali border they found a tunnel - someone had ratted out the dealers.  Within days the new police chief in Mexicali was shot to death in front of his wife and kids.

The inhumane fact in all of this is that grandpa will spend the rest of his life in prison. Three squares a day, climate-controlled cell, outdoor recreation, tv (cable tv no less!), and numerous 'rights' allowed this scumbag as a prisoner. All the while, IF Cole is alive, and that's a BIG 'if', God only knows what's in store for that poor baby.

My gut instinct tells me that if Cole is indeed alive, he won't be for long, and my heart just breaks for him. Anyone who puts a child in this kind of danger should be executed. They have no heart, no conscience, and no respect. They should be executed in the same manner in which they killed their victim. No more 'cruel and unusual punishment' cries to be allowed. Every murderer needs to be executed that way. Maybe then murders in our country would decrease. Maybe.

My thoughts & prayers are with Cole.

I'm from back east, and this reminds me of the Columbian drug wars, where if someone "squealed" on them, ripped them off, they'd go for the families first- as a deterrent.  Maybe the Death Penalty should not quite be banned - it would be more than appropriate here.

Agree..It has been around for long time, Family down the street was victims of this and they knew nothing about there son's drug involvement until he ripped the gang off and then they killed his little sister 3 yr old to teach him a lesson...so don't be so sure Mom knew granddads dealings, this happens often, the family is a target for non payees, or rip offs cause quickest way to send message and they don't care about human life, sadly little Cole is probably gone especially since Granddad is in jail !!

It's a latino trademark because their families mean something to them.

But the Mexican mafia made a mistake thinking that the grandfather would be moved by taking the boy.

obviously the grandfather thinks that the money and the drugs are worth his grandson. he does not care for the kid, only for himself. that is why he continued to steal drugs and money and then went into hiding while leaving his grandson behind. the kid has to be terrified, yet the grandfather and mother and boyfriend refuse to help the authorities! they do not care about the kid. i bet the only way for them to talk is if the cops would offer them some meth and a million bucks to spend at a casino. sad but true.

FYI, before this happenend, the mafia offered the grandfather a means to stop this from occuring. they rather have their money or drugs instead of a little boy. but this was their only alternative to get the stupid grandfathers attention. little do they know, that here in the states most parents or grandparents do not value their kids like foreigners do. most parents would never intentionally put their own kids life in harm. but here we got a stupid grandfather and mother and boyfriend who dont give a damn about the kid and just want to get high on meth and spend money on themselves.

This is absolutely horrible. The fact of the matter is that the grandfather had to be in pretty deep to have access to millions of the drug cartel's money so this wasn't a one time deal gone bad.  The immediate family is also probably in pretty deep to refuse to talk knowing that the cartel has their son.  All of these people need to be put in Sheriff Joe's Arizona prison - although he's in Arizona, it would be appropriate.

My thoughts and prayers are with the little boy.  This is a ridiculous American tragedy. The fact that the cartel is from Mexico doesn't matter.  Drugs were a choice for the adults involved.  Now, the grandson is paying the price for their choices and habits.

Maybe now the US will realize how bad for our country illegal immirgration is. All we see on MSN is the 'hard working illegal' who only stole a social security number to get a job and a house on someone else's identity. THIS is what we see in Miami, Texas, Az. and the states that border the US. We get to see the crime statistics go up. We get to see the neighborhoods go to crap. We get to see the Gang colors with 10 different country flags thrown in.

I'm sorry a child had to die (and, yes, I believe he's already dead. I only wish I could believe they would do it quickly and mercifully) before it finally comes out that illegal immigration is NOT about hard working immigrants. It's about drug and weapon trading. These Mexican gangs have taken over Mexico, and now we're allowing them to take over our country, too. IT HAS TO STOP.

That poor little boy.  These illegals are nothing but horrendous trouble.  When is the gov't going to wake up?  They want amnesty.

Law enforcement officials in our country have been worried for quite some time that the Mexican drug cartel war would cross over into our country.  Heaven help us if it does.  These people don't just kill, they torture and mutilate their victims. In recent weeks, bodies have been found in Tijuana with their tongues cut out, decapitated or in barrels of chemicals on city streets.  Most of the weapons they are using come from the US., including high-caliber machine-guns and grenade launchers.

There have been numerous deaths in our country related to the Mexican drug cartel war.  There are people affiliated with the drug cartels living throughout the United States, most of whom are not here legally.

We have got to secure our borders, stop the flow of weapons from getting into Mexico, and get a grip on illegal immigration.  If anyone has doubts as to the impact that illegal immigration is having on our country then they need to go to a website called usillegalaliens.com.  That website really woke me up as to the severity of the illegal immigration problem.  It's not fair to the immigrants who are trying to enter into the country legally the way our ancestors did.
